Italian Family House Outstands The View In Lithuania's City

272 m² Family House, designed by Architectural Bureau G.Natkevicius & Partners, is located in Lithuania's second biggest city, with a population of 400,000 people. The customer selected to reside on a hill in the city center, with a view of the confluence of Lithuania's two main rivers.

Historically, Lithuanian emigrants to Brazil, Italy, and America returned to Lithuania and lived in the new districts. They called these districts after the nations in which they had resided. This specific neighborhood was known as Italian. The low-rise wooden structures that characterize this metropolitan region.

While driving down an impoverished street, the structure seems tiny, uninteresting, and exaggerates the scale of its surroundings. The inside of the building contrasts with its appearance on the outside: large rooms, a large courtyard with a panoramic perspective. The home is an apt metaphor for the introvert.

The façade is built of Corten steel to emphasize a building's social history. The interior façade is made of glass and aluminum.

The patio provides a literary script: the bedrooms can see the living area, and the living space can see the bedrooms; the bathroom links to the winter garden in the middle of the home. The entire structure is only visible from the sky.
