IT House by architect Andramatin, located in Bogor's crowded suburban region, is a one-story home for a family who spends the most of their time in Jakarta. Serving as a weekend villa, this family chooses to spend their weekends enjoying the fresh air of Bogor, popularly known as the "rain city" due to its relatively high rainfall, even during the dry season. The structure is designed to enhance cross ventilation while yet providing plenty of space for greenery and rainwater collection.
The arrangement depicts a graphical rotation of two intersecting lines. We can see various vistas in every direction from the middle of the home because of this juncture. Setbacks from the site boundary are used to provide access around the home and to control air flow.
The main bedroom is raised one meter above the ground to provide shade for the open terrace underneath. As part of an attempt to create places with optimal light and ventilation, each location has its own private vista. The facade is dominated by board-formed concrete, a concrete casting method that leaves wood grain on the surface, resulting in a monolithic and subdued appearance.
