Poolhouse In Vilnius Is Surrounded By The Forest And Lake

A pool house is erected near the lake, surrounded by woodland. By Lithuanian firm HEIMA Architects, this 70 m² pool house was completed in Vilnius.

It is an addition to the existing complex of many residences. The architectural shape of the Lithuanian rustic hut is strongly dictated by the surrounding terrain. The classic double-sloped roof serves as an interior feature, contrasting with the wide windows that provide a sense of transparency. The narrow rectangular boundary integrates into the terrain organically while respecting the surrounding nature.

Throughout the day and night, two separate outlines of this skyscraper may be observed. The day vision's purpose is to meld this place as seamlessly as possible into the backdrop of surrounding nature. The modern interior of the structure is shown using night vision. The black exterior contrasts with lit see-through interior areas that highlight furniture forms and materials. The outside is made up of natural materials and hues, such as a reed roof, granite walks, and a wooden area surrounding the pool.

The building's grey-brown color palette adheres to the "no-boundary with nature" concept. Internal areas that contrast with the simple outward shapes are exposed by a modern interior that adheres to the same color-material concept. On the one hand, the close-to-nature wood motif and enormous wide-opening windows blur the distinction between outside and within; on the other hand, it provides a glassy, weightless, open sense that is more frequent in modern interiors. Glass dividers are very beneficial throughout the changing seasons. People can utilize the pool house all year round.

The exposed wooden framework that dominates the internal area is one of the pool house's most distinctive features. Massive tripod columns, 60cm beams, and repeating roof trusses not only create an ambiance on the interior, but also recall ethnic Lithuanian home construction history. The nearby swimming pool matches the house's design. Because none of the furniture items can be seen when swimming, the higher poolside horizon line produces an empty space sensation.
